Magdalena and Ashe Stevens Award-Winning Contemporary Fiction Authors

About Us

Magdalena and Ashe, nicknamed by readers “The Author Couple,” write stories that dig deep into raw emotions and challenge the way we see the world. They like to think of their writing as having a poetic edge and pushing the limits of contemporary fiction.

Their debut, Lost in Beirut, tells the story of Ashe’s survival during the 2006 Lebanon war. It won multiple awards, including IndieReader, Readers’ Favorite, and Chanticleer, and has even caught the attention of filmmakers.

Currently, they are finishing a novel inspired by Magdalena’s experience as a woman discovering her autism diagnosis later in life. It’s a raw, personal reflection on identity and self-discovery through the eyes of those we love.

Magdalena is a former fashion model who somehow ended up becoming a doctor stumbling on the way upon a degree in art history. Ashe studied theatre and writing at CalArts. When asked how they write together, Ashe jokes “I am her storyteller and she is my poet.”

They live in California, where they write, raise their autistic daughter, and try to keep up with two opinionated Balinese cats and a sweet, old-souled Pomeranian.
